Enabling, predisposing, and reinforcing factors influencing implementation of exclusive breastfeeding among lactating mothers in Limpopo Province, South Africa

Background: Breastmilk only is enough for milestone of a child because it contains all necessary nutrients. Because its benefits World Health Organization recommends that lactating mothers must give their infants breastmilk six months and continue up to two years with appropriate complementary food. Despite breastfeeding not well practiced in developing countries, South Africa included. Objective: This study aimed investigate enabling, reinforcing predisposing factors influencing exclusive interruption among Limpopo Province. Methods materials: was cross sectional which employed quantitative measures. Data collected from 399 during immunization the selected birthing facilities Province analysed using SPSS version 26. Results: The findings indicate were likely stop completely when babies three old. majority 72.9% practised mixed feeding minority, 27.1% EBF. It also found 38.5% gave water infants, 30.2% given soft porridge 26.1% formula. Conclusion: revealed affect include: influence Parents/in-laws Insufficient breastmilk, religious cultural beliefs, illness young going back work/school.
